By the way, if my album release project gets to $1000 today, I’ll release a new song clip! Help reach today’s goal @ http://kck.st/a0avRM !!
The first project to help release my album was unsuccessful, so I’ve made a new project with a much easier goal and a couple better rewards to make everything much better all around.
Please feel free to visit http://kck.st/a0avRM and pledge some money to me release my new album, every little bit helps a ton!
kaitlyn-hod asked: When are you announcing summer tour plans!?
Very soon. I can tell you that the first of a few tours will begin in August. The dates are being booked right now.
I’ve just seen the first instance of “this doesn’t sound like the old Backseat Goodbye” in light of someone hearing the preview of my new single…
Just wanted to say, if you all want the same Backseat Goodbye album time after time, you’re out of luck. And I don’t mean that in a rude way at all, I really don’t… I just mean it in the way that I am very very very human. I change with every day, week, month, year on this earth. If I made all of my albums sound the same, I wouldn’t only be letting myself down, I’d be letting all of you down as well.
Trust me, I know what this person meant by the comment, and I have a bit of a reassurance for them (and maybe, for you, if you’re feeling the same way)… There are definitely many many moments in this new album where you’ll hear some classic BG. Actually, there’s even a song called “Yellow Brick Roads” that fans of “Technicolor Eyes” and “32 Ways To Make You Smile” should most likely love (that could be because I wrote the song 3 years ago.)
I guess I just want to say you all can trust me. This album was written by me. No outside input from labels, managers, or any of that mess. So, don’t be scared. Trust me, 98% of the album is prominent with acoustic guitar. The lyrics get darker in parts, but every single song is still hopeful.
Final point… I know what Backseat Goodbye means as a musical entity. This new album is 110% Backseat Goodbye. Once you all hear it, you’ll understand. This album is my first that is completely meant to be heard as a whole. The songs work great by themselves, but when they’re played together, they make something really special (to me, at least.)
I’m still Chad. Backseat Goodbye is still Backseat Goodbye. The day I stop taking the time to type out blogs like this is when you can worry that BG has changed in a bad way (and that day will never come, I can assure you.)
Cheers,
Chad

I recently got back from a trip to northern Michigan. A trip in which I was planning to finish writing my third poetry book (I even purchased a new Moleskine to fill up on the duration of the trip.) However, instead of writing, I lived. I ended up doing a handful of things I had never done before…
