Of Nerves & Letdowns.

Let me tell you a story about a song… The song is called “Letdown Of The Year”, and it’s the seventh track off my upcoming new album, The Good Years. I’ll be debuting this song tomorrow, and it’s a bit scary. Not scary because of the song, but because of your possible reaction.

See, this song is one that sounds like it came straight out of the 90s. I’m actually surprised it’s taken this many years for a song like this to come from my brain… If you had any idea the amount of 90s music I listen to, you’d completely understand why. I personally believe it’s one of the best “single/radio ready” songs I’ve ever written, if not the absolute best. And, with any new release an artist worries about what their fans might think when it actually comes time for release.

I guess this is just one of those moments where I ask you all to go into the listening of the song tomorrow with an open mind. Trust me, you’ll know it’s a Backseat Goodbye song, but by the time it gets to the chorus you’re going to hopefully have a surprised feeling. I can only hope by the time the song ends you’ll realize, “Oh damn, I like this song, Chad’s really grown as a songwriter…”. However, that’s not for me to decide.

I suppose my main point of this is to just say that I absolutely love this song… If I didn’t, it wouldn’t be featured on my new album. It really is a step forward for me as an artist and a songwriter. I’m excited for you all to hear it, because I really think it has a place as possibly becoming the most popular BG song I’ve ever released. It really seems to be a song that surprises people in a very good way - I know it surprised even me when I wrote it.

Anyway, I’m done gushing. Please be sure to check the song out tomorrow on my Purevolume, because I would appreciate it very much.

Cheers,
Chad
